**********
Tomorrow we have a meeting with the building contractor, Eden Brae, to sign off on our final house plans. Yeah!!!!! Cessnock Council have finally approved our plans. Though the Council have stipulated that we need a turning bay off the driveway, so this now has to go back to the Vintage Design Review Committee for sign off, this meeting was on Friday last, we are still waiting to hear whether they have approved this, fingers crossed!
Here's a peak at our landscape plan...pre-designd by Suzie and Dave and implemented by our Landscape Architect....
Once we have signed off on our plans, the builder can then peg out the section to start the process of building our new home. We also have the pool company on standby to dig out the hole for the pool, and put in the concrete shell - this then has to settle for a couple of months before they can do anything else to it.

We can't believe it is actually starting to happen!

House plans to come, once signed off...

Our tree change all started on July 26 2007, when David and I were meandering through the vineyards in the Hunter Valley, celebrating my 40th birthday! We came across The Vintage...

The Vintage is a residential land and resort-style accommodation set around a stunning world-class 18-hole Greg Norman-designed golf course located within the spectacular Hunter Valley wine region. It was love at first sight! (photo taken from hot air balloon after we bought the section!)

We got the guided tour with the local representative. Went away, mulled over several options over a full bodied glass of Shiraz. Slept on it and discussed some more over breakfast, went back for another looksie, did some sums and decided we would go for it! It would be our tree change! Yeah we bought....Lot 14, namely....26 Casuarina Drive....but not the Kangaroos... they came free of charge!
The task was then to find a builder and a design of house that we both liked and that would fit into The Vintage's very strict guidelines.

This is where we discovered 'Home World', which is the world's largest display village, with over 120 new home designs, from 35 Sydney builders. Totally unbelievable!! We trawled through approximately 50+ properties, all of different styles, one storey, two storey... until we finally made the decision on building with Eden Brae Homes.

We chose our house....The Entertainer 37...in the Prestige range...

This is the display home at Home World (including our old car outside!) - this will give you an idea of what we have gone for... the colour scheme will be different, and we have slightly modified the front of the house outside, mainly, extended the roof out over the balcony of the main bedroom upstairs, extended the garage to the right, so we can fit our golf buggy (when we buy one!), changed the front door....oh, ok, it will look totally different to the house above! But you get the idea.

Until the next update...
